"It was a promise to a friend that brought me to the Event that would launch SkateBarn as a legit venue to host DJ's and all those who love to get there dance on. I arrived at midnight a bit sleepy from running a BMX comp there earlier that day, but a promise is a promise. The security was effective but polite and did a great job of keeping everyone safe. After a through search of my camera bag via security I met up with DJ Jimmy Hoffa who was yet to spin. Jimmy holds down a day job as skatebarns resident manager and all around good guy. Jimmy aka DJ Hoffa put in a long day of running things at the skate-park before the all night Dj extravaganza so I thought the least I could do was show my support by attending and taking a few pics. I loaded my gun (camera) with film and set out to shoot some targets (Dj's, dancers and friends). I was eager to shoot because I hadn't shot anyone all day,MCing, judging and organizing the BMX comp didn't leave me enough time to get shots of the BMX pros who were killing the skate-park earlier that day.It seems I'm always biting off more then I can chew, and yet I'm always hungry for more.

My appetite was sated when I ventured to the Drum and Bass stage upstairs & found DJ Naha spinning some great stuff. She was nothing short of amazing. I was instantly struck by the amount of talent she displayed behind the turn-tables. Cupid must have been in the house because she stole my heart and left me love struck for the rest of the night. If it wasn't for the supermodels bugging me I might have had the chance to say more to her then. "I loved your set tonight." and she would have undoubtedly said more then "Thanx" but alas the supermodels had their with me. That's a story for another time. The main-stage hosted some amazing talent. The sound and light guys set up everything perfectly and there was an undeniable positive vibe and great atmosphere all about the place. It seemed everyone was feeding off the positive energy of the Dj's put forth. I know events like this will continue to grow and push things in the right direction for Skatebarn. For a first-time event Chery was off the hook and everyone I talked to can't wait for the next one. So keep your eyes open for info on the next one. If you missed it you missed a great time so make sure you get to the next one and bring all your friends!"
