at the ASA World Finals

Washington DC August 30, 2003

This was the last ASA stop of the year before world finals. The points in this event were very crucial for skaters who wanted to compete in the finals. The top 34 ASA pro skaters get to go. This was also the last stop for the ams so the top seven at this event got to go to finals too. The course was the best one I have skated all year and everyone was there so I knew it would be fun. The am contest was so good... They were all hucking themselves into the top 7. Big ups to Lukas Frederick for winning!!! For the pro contest the weather ended up being like 95 degrees with like 80% humidity... I saw like 4-5 skaters cramp up in their runs. But the level of skating was the best I have seen all year too. In finals everyone had at least one flawless run. The top ten was so close from 1st to 10th place. I had a very good time and had fun... Now its on to world finals...I'll keep you posted. Places for pro girls 1st-Martina Svobadova, 2nd-Jenna Downing, 3rd-Fallon Heffernon, Places for pro guys 1st-Guy(the European guy) 2nd-Brian Aragon, 3rd-Stefan Alfano, 4th-Carl Hills, 5th-Bobby Tateishi, 6th-Sam Fogarty. till next time, Bobby.......Props to Carl Hills for landing the first 1260 in a contest run!!!!
